A soccer ball cake for a huge soccer fan. Starting with my ball pan, which bakes in two hemispheres, I leveled the halves and cut a flat piece on the bottom of one half so the cake could stand without rolling over. The cake flavor is vanilla, filled and iced with vanilla buttercream. Using small templates I made for pentagons and hexagons, I cut out black and white fondant pieces and placed accordingly. The baseboard is covered in green fondant, buttercream lettering, and a little disco dust for shimmer. Goal!
